“Courtesy of Aisha” - Usman Khawaja’s wife shares picture of star batter wearing pink nail polish during GT20 Canada shoot

On Thursday, July 25, Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja's wife Rachel McLellan Khawaja posted a picture of the opening batter from his Global T20 Canada league photo shoot. In the photo, the left-handed batter can be seen wearing pink nail polish.

Khawaja was last seen in action for Australia in a Test match against New Zealand earlier this year. The left-handed batter is set to lead the Vancouver Knights at GT20 Canada 2024.

On July 25, Rachel took to her Instagram story to share a picture of her husband from the GT20 Canada shoot. Rachel hinted that their daughter Aisha was responsible for the Vancouver Knights’ captain wearing pink nail polish.

The duo welcomed Aisha in July 2020 before becoming parents to another baby girl named Ayla in 2022.

In her Instagram story, Rachel wrote:

“Can we all just appreciate the pink nail polish……? Curtesy of Aisha over the weekend 🤣😆.”

Usman Khawaja fails to deliver in the first match of GT20 Canada

The Vancouver Knights faced the Toronto Nationals on Thursday, July 25, in the first game of the Global T20 Canada 2024. After being asked to bat first, the Vancouver Knights lost their captain Usman Khawaja in the second over. The left-handed batter managed only three runs off 10 balls.

The Vancouver Knights batters struggled throughout the match as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Reeza Hendricks (23) was the highest scorer as the Knights were bowled out for 110 runs in 19.3 overs. UAE bowler Junaid Siddique took four wickets for the Toronto Nationals.

In response, the Toronto Nationals faced no issues as they easily won the game by eight wickets with 32 balls remaining. Captain Colin Munro scored 44 runs while Rassie van der Dussen remained unbeaten on 31 off 18 balls to guide Toronto to a win in their opening game.
