Here is the list of the Impact Player subs in today's match:
Chennai Super Kings: Matheesha Pathirana, Subhranshu Senapati, Akash Singh, Shaik Rasheed, and Mitchell Santner.
Gujarat Titans: Vijay Shankar, Sai Sudharsan, KS Bharat, Jayant Yadav, and Shivam Mavi.
GT brought in Vijay Shankar as the Impact Player sub, replacing Mohit Sharma. Matheesha Pathirana, meanwhile, came in as the substitute for CSK in place of Shivam Dube,
Speaking at the toss, GT skipper Hardik Pandya predicted that dew might come into play in the second innings.
"We're going to bowl first," Hardik stated. "A bit of dew coming into play, so it might be better to know what we have to chase down. You can have a bad day and still have an opportunity to win the trophy again.
"So, the focus in the league stages was to finish in the top two. We've always spoken about how we are as a team."
CSK captain MS Dhoni, on the other hand, highlighted the need to back their own strengths. He also asserted that they wanted to bowl first.
"We wanted to bowl first because GT is an excellent chasing side," Dhoni said. "So, we wanted to put them in first. Guys have shown maturity from the first game and read the game well to exploit conditions better.
"It's important to keep learning from the start of the tournament till the end, and I think the boys have done that. It's important to back the strength you have got. We try to assign roles and responsibilities but it's all about confidence on a personal level."
