"Curse for Pakistan Cricket!"- Top 10 funny memes after Day 2 of 2nd PAK vs ENG 2024 Test
England reached 239/6 in their first innings at the stumps on Day 2 of the second Test against Pakistan on Wednesday (October 16) at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Expectedly, the pitch got slower and assisted spin bowlers a bit more on the second day, considering it is a used surface.
Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman began the day for Pakistan with an overnight score of 259/5 in the morning. English pacer Brydon Carse dismissed Rizwan in the 93rd over to give the visitors an early breakthrough. Aamer Jamal (37), Noman Ali (32), and Agha Salman (31) then chipped with contributions to help Pakistan to 366 in the first innings.
Opener Ben Duckett then smashed an aggressive century to set up a good platform for England. He stitched half-century partnerships with Zak Crawley (27), Ollie Pope (29), and Joe Root (34), who got starts but failed to convert them.
England were in a comfortable position at 211/2 but soon collapsed to 225/6. It happened due to brilliant spin bowling displays from the Pakistan spin duo of Sajid Khan (4/86) and Noman Ali (2/75). Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse then batted defensively to play out the remaining overs safely till the stumps.

"It got tougher as the ball got old"- England batter Ben Duckett after Day 2 of the 2nd Test vs Pakistan 2024
Speaking to broadcasters after stumps on Day 2, England opener Ben Duckett reflected on his century and the team's performance, saying:
"Batting against spin is my strength. Batting against the new ball can tend to be easier out here. Good to bat with Zak. I try to play different shots, when you first walk out to bat there are lot of men around the bat. I try to get rid of them. I did not get hold of all the shots I played.
"We thought that it is easier to play against the new ball, it got tougher as the ball got old, really slow. Credit to them, they made us work hard for their wickets."
He continued:
"We lost a couple of wickets more towards the end, this game will now move quickly. Their spinners bowled a bit quicker, this pitch is getting slower every half an hour, obviously we have to bat last on it. Hopefully we can try to create a collapse like we did in the second innings of the first match. It's good (his thumb), I played a lot of spin and when the teams were announced I was happy that they have only one seamer."
