Danni Wyatt-Hodge traded from UP Warriorz to Royal Challengers Women ahead of WPL 2025
England Women's Team opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been traded from UP Warriorz to Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the Women's Premier League (WPL) Season 3, which will be played in 2025. The announcement was made today (Wednesday, October 30).
Wyatt-Hodge did not feature in the opening season of the marquee women's tournament but registered herself for the second edition, where she was snapped up by the UP Warriorz for her base price of ₹30 Lakhs. She was confined to the bench throughout the tournament as the UP Warriorz only managed three wins out of their eight games and finished in fourth place among the five teams.
Ahead of the 2025 Women's Premier League, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru traded the English opener from the Uttar Pradesh-based franchise. The captain of RCB Women, Smriti Mandhana, said via a statement:
"Danielle is a game-changer and a phenomenal athlete. Her skills and competitive spirit align perfectly with our team's vision. We are excited to welcome her to the RCB and look forward to the energy she will bring to the squad."
Danni Wyatt-Hodge is currently representing the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash League 2024. She has only played one game so far, scoring 18 runs. Overall, she boasts impressive numbers in the shortest format of the game, having scored 2,979 runs in 164 T20I games with 16 half-centuries and two hundreds to her name.

The five Women's Premier League franchises are expected to announce their retained set of players by November 7. The report also states that the auction purse for teams could be bumped up from ₹12 crores to ₹15 crores with a possibility of a mega auction in 2026 along with a sixth franchise.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions after beating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the summit clash held in March earlier this year.
