"Darr lag raha hai"- Top 10 funny memes ahead of IND vs AUS BGT 2024-25 Test series
Team India and Australia are all set to clash in a five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Test series, which will commence on Friday, November 22, in Perth. There has been massive build-up and hype ahead of the series, considering the competitive rivalry developed between the two teams over the past two decades.
India have the upper hand in the rivalry at the moment as they beat Australia at their home during the previous two tours in 2018-19 and 2020-21. The Aussies also have not won the BGT series since 2014. However, many cricket experts and pundits feel Australia are favorites heading into the series, as India is coming on the back of a disappointing Test series loss at home against New Zealand.
The visiting team will be without their regular captain, Rohit Sharma, for the opening Test as he is on personal leave. Vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side in his absence in Perth.
Fans are awaiting the BGT series to witness the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant in action in Test cricket in Australia after a long time. They expressed their anticipation by sharing hilarious memes on X and Instagram.
One fan expressed fear of loss through his post, writing:
"Darr lag raha hai." (I am scared)

"That's something that is not in your hand"- Ravi Shastri on Rohit Sharma's absence for 1st IND vs AUS BGT 2024-25 Test
Former cricketer Ravi Shastri recently urged team management not to think about captain Rohit Sharma's absence and to focus on the task with quality players in the squad. Speaking on Star Sports Press Room, he said:
“It's beyond your (control). Nothing you can do with it. You have to think forward. Think what you have the best in hand and adapt accordingly. That's something that is not in your hand, you've got the ammunition, you've got the players and you've got the guys with experience. So, it's important from Gautam's point of view that he motivates them to go on and take on Australia in this Test match."
Shastri also put his weight behind under-fire batter KL Rahul and backed him to bat long and do the job for the team. He continued:
“When you look at this team, when you look at the experience, who has got the technique, I think KL Rahul, if he gets off to a good start in the Test, he is someone who can bat long. He's got runs overseas as well in the past. He's not a first-timer to Australia, this is his third tour. So, it's important that he believes in his ability and gets off to a good start and then he has the kind of game where he can play for long periods of time."
