“Do you practice that shot” – Tristan Stubbs pulls Tabraiz Shamsi's leg for reacting to Virat Kohli’s six off Haris Rauf at 2022 T20 World Cup

South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs pulled his teammate Tabraiz Shamsi’s legs after the spinner reacted to an iconic six by India’s Virat Kohli against Pakistan’s Haris Rauf at the 2022 T20 World Cup. Notably, Kohli smashed a six over the bowlers’ head when the Men in Blue needed 28 runs off the last eight balls.

With back-to-back sixes against Rauf, Kohli lowered the equation to 16 in the last over. The right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 82 runs off 53 balls with the help of four sixes and six boundaries to take his team over the line in Melbourne, Australia.

Reacting to the video on X, Tabraiz Shamsi wrote:

“He had no business hitting THAT BALL over the bowler's head for 6! Unreal Shot!”

Tristan Stubbs replied:

Virat Kohli was PoTM in IND vs SA 2024 T20 World Cup final

Virat Kohli was Player of the Match in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa in Barbados on June 29. The 35-year-old overcame his lean patch to score 76 runs off 59 balls, comprising two sixes and six boundaries. His innings played a vital role in helping the Men in Blue beat the Proteas by seven runs in the final and clinch their only second T20 World Cup trophy after 2007.

Following the match, Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is. He finished as one of the top two leading run-getters in the format, scoring 4188 runs in 125 matches, only behind India captain Rohit Sharma (4231 runs in 159 games). Apart from the duo, only Babar Azam has over 4,000 runs in T20Is.

Virat Kohli will next be seen in action in the first of the two Tests against Bangladesh, which will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19.

The ace batter is on the verge of completing 9,000 runs in Tests and 27,000 runs across formats in international cricket.
