Fans to get full refund after Day 1 gets washed out in BGT 2024-25 3rd Test
The opening day (December 14) of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test between Australia and India at The Gabba turned out to be a disappointment. Play was washed out, with minimal action possible due to persistent rain throughout. Fans are set to get a refund.
India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Only 13.2 overs were bowled before play was called off for the day. While fans at the ground were subjected to disappointment on the opening day of the third Test, there is good news for them nonetheless.
According to Cricket Australia's ticketing policy, single-match ticket holders are eligible for a 100% refund on their ticket for a full day of a Test match if less than 15 overs are completed and no result is recorded for the match on the day. Therefore, fans will be issued a full refund at The Gabba for Day 1 as only 13.2 overs were bowled before play was called off.
Cricket Australia's refund policy can be found on their tickets faqs page (https://www.cricket.com.au/tickets/faqs).
