“Feeling proud” – Ravindra Jadeja on completing 300 wickets in Test cricket during IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Ravindra Jadeja expressed gratitude for completing 300 wickets in Test cricket on Day 4 of the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday, September 30. On the landmark, the left-arm spinner said he was proud of completing 10 years in Test cricket after being labeled as only a white-ball specialist during his initial days in international cricket.

The 35-year-old credited his hard work behind the scenes for success in Test cricket. Jadeja told Jio Cinema (via Cricbuzz):

“It's special (on completing 300 Test wickets). I've been playing Test cricket since 10 years and I've finally reached this milestone. Feeling proud of myself. Always happy and excited whenever I wear the Indian jersey. As a youngster, I started in white ball cricket.”
"Everyone used to say I'm a white-ball specialist. Gradually I improved my game and it has paid off in the last few years,” he added.

Notably, Jadeja is the second-quickest Indian after Ravichandran Ashwin to bag 300 wickets in Test cricket. Overall, he is the seventh Indian player to reach the milestone.

Apart from bowling, Ravindra Jadeja is the third Indian all-rounder after former India captain Kapil Dev and teammate Ashwin to score 3,000 runs in Tests besides taking 300 wickets.

“We batted very well. Whatever we planned, we batted accordingly. Hopefully, we get them out as early as possible.”
