'Fool-proof' security arrangements for 2nd IND vs BAN 2024 Test in Kanpur: Reports
‘Fool-proof’ security arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the second India vs Bangladesh Test match, which begins at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Friday, September 27. Both teams arrived in Kanpur on Tuesday to begin preparations for the second Test.
As per a report in the news agency PTI, the decision to boost security arrangements was made after an FIR was filed against some members of the Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha on Monday for allegedly organizing a 'havan' by blocking the road before the stadium. The protest was held against 'atrocities' on Hindus in Bangladesh, ACP Harish Chander was quoted as telling PTI.
Kanpur's Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander told PTI that adequate police force has been sought for the India-Bangladesh Test, keeping the situation in mind.
"We are reviewing the security arrangements to leave no stone unturned and (are) confident of getting an adequate police force to meet the requirements,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Green Park stadium and Hotel Landmark have been divided into sectors, zones, and sub-zones, the report added.
