Full list of Jaffna Kings players for Lanka Premier League 2024 ft. Azmatullah Omarzai and Chartih Asalanka

The fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to start on Monday, July 1 and will run until Sunday, July 21.

Jaffna Kings are the most successful team in the Lanka Premier League history. They have won the first three editions in a row but failed to continue their winning streak in the previous season.

Kings finished fourth in the points table, winning three out of eight games. However, defending champions, B-Love Kandy halted their way to the finals after defeating them in the Eliminator.

Shoaib Malik was the highest-scorer for Jaffna Kings in the previous edition while Dunith Wellalage led the bowling unit with 10 wickets.

Sri Lanka’s middle-order batter Charith Asalanka is set to captain the Jaffna Kings this season, with Pathum Nissanka serving as his deputy. The team will also feature prominent players like Rilee Rossouw, Kusal Mendis, and Alex Ross.

In the all-rounder department, Azmatullah Omarzai will take the lead, supported by Dhananjaya de Silva, West Indian Fabian Allen, and various domestic all-rounders.

Noor Ahmad, who was the top wicket-taker in the 2023 LPL with 19 wickets for Dambulla, will join the Jaffna Kings for the upcoming edition. He will be accompanied backed by South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff, and some domestic recruits namely Pramod Madushan and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.

The Jaffna Kings will square off with Galle Marvels in their second match of the 2024 Lanka Premier League on Tuesday, July 2, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
