Full list of Texas Super Kings players for MLC 2024 ft. Marcus Stoinis and Aiden Markram
The second season of Major League Cricket 2024 is slated to take place from July 5 to 23, 2024. There will be 25 matches held at two locations: Grand Prairie Stadium and Church Street Park. The T20 tournament will include six teams: Texas Super Kings, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and Washington Freedom.
The Faf du Plessis-led Texas Super Kings reached the play-off stage during Major League Cricket’s inaugural edition in 2023. They finished second in the points table with three wins in five games. However, Seattle Orcas and MI New York defeated them in the Qualifier and Challenger matches, respectively.
Looking at the current squad, Faf du Plessis has been retained as the overseas player, along with the Kiwi duo of Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner. The domestic players retained include Milind Kumar, Mohammad Mohsin, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Calvin Savage, Zia Shahzad, Cameron Stevenson, and Zia Ul-Haq.
During the domestic draft, Joshua Tromp, twin brother of Matthew Tromp, was picked in the first round, while Raj Nannan was selected in the second round.
Ahead of the second season, Texas Super Kings announced Afghanistan's mystery spinner Noor Ahmad as the replacement for the injured Daryl Mitchell. Additionally, they signed new overseas recruits namely, South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram, Afghan medium-pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, and the in-form Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.
Under the leadership of the former South African captain, Faf du Plessis, stalwart Dwayne Bravo, and with top international players like Stoinis, Markram, and Naveen in their ranks, the Texas Super Kings are one of the toughest sides for any opponent to face.
Super Kings will play their season opener against Los Angeles Knight Riders at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
