"Gen alpha clicks" - KL Rahul's BGT 2024-25 teammate reacts as the batter poses on Melbourne street ahead of Boxing Day Test
Team India's senior batter KL Rahul recently unwinded by going on an outing with his wife Athiya Shetty ahead of the upcoming Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25). The 32-year-old shared a few pictures on his Instagram account of him posing on a Melbourne street and enjoying coffee with his better half.
Rahul's BGT 2024-25 teammate Devdutt Padikkal reacted to the keeper-batter's Instagram post. The southpaw wrote:
"Gen alpha clicks🫡."
KL Rahul has been India's top performer with the bat in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia. The right-handed batter was asked to open the batting in the first Test as regular opener Rohit Sharma was unavailable due to paternity leave.
The right-handed batter impressed many with a crucial 77-run knock in India's second innings. Rahul continued to bat at the top of the order for the second and third Tests, despite Sharma's return. With 235 runs across six innings, he is currently India's leading run-getter of the tour.
Padikkal, on the other hand, was a late addition to India's BGT 2024-25 squad. He featured in the playing XI for the opening encounter after top order batter Shubman Gill was ruled out of the fixture thumb injury. The youngster registered scores of 0 and 25 in the Perth Test.
KL Rahul suffered an injury scare ahead of Boxing Day Test in Melbourne
KL Rahul was apparently hit on a finger while batting at India's net session in Melbourne ahead of the Boxing Day Test. A video surfaced on social media, in which the batter can be seen getting treatment from the physio.
India would hope that the injury isn't a serious one, given that he has been their standout performer so far in the BGT 2024-25. The scoreline of the five-match series currently stands at 1-1 after three Tests. The Melbourne Test kicks off on Boxing Day, December 26.
