“Ghar ke minister” - Ravindra Jadeja shares a birthday post for wife Rivaba Jadeja 

On Thursday, Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja took to Instagram to celebrate his wife Rivaba Jadeja's 34th birthday. The Indian all-rounder last played during the 2024 T20 World Cup, where India secured the title with a seven-run victory over South Africa in the final on June 29 in Barbados.

The following day, the southpaw announced his retirement from T20I cricket. Over his career, he played 74 T20Is, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets.

On Thursday, he took to Instagram to post a birthday message for his wife, writing:

“Achha toh aaj aapka birthday hai wahh! [Ah, so today is your birthday, wow!] Wish you a wonderful day and year ahead! #ghar_ke_minister.”

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old was rested for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which India lost 0-2, with one game ending in a tie. He was later included in Team B for the Duleep Trophy but was released from the squad a week before the tournament started, with undisclosed reasons.

The Indian all-rounder is expected to return to action for the two-Test series against Bangladesh, which begins on September 19 in Chennai.


Ravindra Jadeja joins Bharatiya Janata Party

Ravindra Jadeja has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following in the footsteps of his wife. Rivaba Jadeja, a BJP member since 2019, currently serves as the party's MLA for the Jamnagar seat in Gujarat after being elected on 8 December 2022.

On September 3, 2024, Rivaba shared photos of both her and Ravindra’s BJP membership cards. Jadeja joined the BJP during the party's 'Sadasyata Abhiyan' campaign, a membership drive held every six years.

Meanwhile, Jadeja’s father, Anirudhsinh Jadeja, and sister, Naynaba, had joined the Congress party in 2019.

The Indian all-rounder has represented the nation in 72 Test matches, accumulating 3,036 runs, including four centuries, and claiming 294 wickets. Additionally, Jadeja has appeared in 197 ODIs, where he has scored 2,756 runs and taken 220 wickets.
