"God's plan baby"- Rinku Singh reacts after Yash Dayal's sensational final over helps RCB beat CSK and reach IPL 2024 playoffs

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh applauded Yash Dayal after his sensational final over exploits helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) reach IPL 2024 playoffs on Saturday (May 19). RCB beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs in their final league match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to advance in the tournament.

Things got tense in the final over as CSK needed 17 runs in the final over to reach the playoffs, even without winning. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis gave the responsibility of bowling the crucial over to Yash Dayal against set batters MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.

Dhoni hit the first ball for a gigantic 110-meter six over fine leg to put immense pressure on Dayal early the over and sent CSK fans into a frenzy. However, it turned out to be a boon for the bowler as the wet ball was hit out of the ground and had to be replaced by a dry ball.

Yash Dayal got a better grip on his slower balls and dismissed MS Dhoni on the very next ball. He conceded only one run in the following four balls to help RCB clinch the victory and a playoff spot.

Rinku Singh was elated for his UP teammate Yash Dayal after the spell and lauded him with a special post on his Instagram story. Rinku has a history with the left-arm pacer in IPL, as he hit him for five sixes in the last over of a match last year to power KKR to an improbable win against Gujarat Titans.

Rinku posted the following story and wrote:

"He equally deserves the Man of the match"- RCB captain Faf du Plessis on Yash Dayal

At the post-match presentation, Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis shared his Player of the Match award with Yash Dayal and said:

"The last over that Dayal bowled was unbelievable and he equally deserves the Man of the match. So, I want to share this with him. I felt like the yorker wasn't working so I told him to go back to your strengths, which is a slow ball."
