GT vs DC: Who won yesterday's match in IPL 2024?

Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets in yesterday's IPL 2024 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a disappointingly one-sided encounter, DC rolled over GT for 89 in 17.3 overs after inviting them to bat. Delhi lost four wickets in their chase but raced past their target in 8.5 overs.

On a day when almost nothing went right for Gujarat Titans, they lost their skipper Shubman Gill (8) in the second over as he chipped a catch to cover off Ishant Sharma.

Wriddhiman Saha (2 off 10) then chopped a delivery from Mukesh Kumar back onto his stumps. Sai Sudharsan (12) paid the price for attempting a high-risk single, as he was run out by a brilliant direct hit from Sumit Kumar.

In the same over, David Miller (2) edged a delivery from Ishant onto his thigh pad, and the ball deflected behind the wickets, where Rishabh Pant took a smart catch. DC took a good review to get the decision in their favor, as a couple of players were adamant on Pant going for the DRS.

GT lost half their side for 47 when Abhinav Manohar (8) was stumped off Tristan Stubbs. In the same over, Pant got lucky, as GT's Impact Player Shahrukh Khan (0) was stumped.

Shahrukh missed a length ball that pitched outside leg. Pant couldn't make a clean collection, but the ball dropped off his glove onto the stumps, with the batter out of his crease.

Axar Patel trapped Rahul Tewatia (10) leg before as the Gujarat Titans batter missed his slog sweep.

Rashid Khan contributed 31 off 24 to take his team closer to three figures. He fell to Mukesh, nicking an upper cut. In the same over, Noor Ahmad (1) was cleaned up by the DC pacer as GT registered their lowest IPL total.

Chasing 90, Delhi Capitals got off to a brisk start, with Jake Fraser-McGurk striking two fours and as many sixes. His cameo of 20 in 10 ended when he chipped Spencer Johnson straight to midwicket.

Prithvi Shaw (7) was the next to go. He lobbed a simple catch to short third man off a brilliant short delivery from Sandeep Warrier, getting himself into a complete tangle.

Shai Hope and Abishek Porel went after the Gujarat pacer in the fifth over, slamming him for a four and three sixes. The eventful over ended with Porel being knocked over by a full delivery.

Hope (19) was the next to go, hitting a reverse sweep from Rashid straight to short third man. Pant (16*) and Sumit (9*) then took DC to a thumping win. Sumit hit the winning runs by inside-edging one from Noor to fine leg for four.
