"Harayali dekh kar Bowling first le li thi...flat pitch nikla"- Top 10 funny memes from Day 1 of 3rd IND vs AUS BGT 2024-25 Test at the Gabba
The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series between India and Australia commenced on Saturday (December 14) at the Gabba in Brisbane. However, only 13.2 overs were bowled as rain played a spoilsport by washing out the second and third sessions. The five-match Test series is currently level 1-1.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first in the contest. Australia openers Usman Khawaja (19*) and Nathan McSweeney (4*) played watchfully and negated the new ball threat successfully. They batted for 13.2 overs before play was interrupted in the first session.
Further play was not possible during the day due to persistent showers. Visiting pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep tried their best to give their side a breakthrough with the new ball in potentially friendly conditions but could not.
Fans were disappointed after not witnessing much action on the opening day of the third Test in the BGT 2024-25 series. They expressed their reactions by sharing memes on social media platforms.

"I won't be too critical"- Aakash Chopra on India's decision to bowl first in 3rd Test vs Australia in Brisbane BGT 2024-25
Former cricketer Aakash Chopra analyzed the reasons behind Indian captain Rohit Sharma's decision to bowl first in the thirdTest after stumps on the opening day. The 47-year-old felt that factors like overcast conditions, green pitch, and misfiring batting unit might have influenced the decision-makers. In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra said:
"Many times, when you see the pitch, you feel you should bowl first, that you will bowl out the opposition quickly as we also got out in the last match. We fell short. Our batting did not fire. Conditions have a role to play. There is a lot of help on the first day and then the conditions become better for batting."
He elaborated:
"When you have not batted well in the previous Test match, you feel that even if there is a slight chance of doing a little better by doing something, you try that. I know people will look back and say that you should have batted after winning the toss, but I won't be too critical. I can understand why the Indian team decided to bowl first."
