"Hata Gauti is gaane ko"- Suresh Raina reveals hilarious moment involving Gautam Gambhir in the Indian dressing room

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina shared the dressing room with Gautam Gambhir on numerous occasions when they were active cricketers and recently shared a hilarious story about left-handed opener. Raina claimed that Gambhir had the habit of listening to a song too many times, especially if it helped him in scoring runs.

However, he also talked about how angry and irritated the other cricketers in the dressing room would get after listening to the song several times. Raina hilariously claimed that sometimes the song being repetitive used to affect other batters as they would get dismissed.

Speaking to The Lallantop, here's what Suresh Raina had to say about his hilarious memory of Gautam Gambhir:

"He can listen to one song 20 times in the dressing room. If he likes the song, he will score runs. However, some other batters would get out after listening to that song. Many times three-four players have gone to him and said, 'Hata Gauti is gaane ko'."

Raina also gave his opinion on Rinku Singh and made a bold prediction that the southpaw would hit the winning six when India won their next World Cup. He added:

"He (Rinku) is God-gifted. Whenever the Indian team win the World Cup, the winning six will come from Rinku Singh's bat. He is that kind of a player who will bail the team out of trouble."

Rinku's consistent performances for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last year and the Indian team in his few appearances suggest that he could certainly be in their T20 World Cup 2024 plans.

Suresh Raina on India's young talents

The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill look set to be the ones who take Indian cricket forward. Suresh Raina was asked about his opinion of each one of them and he was pretty blunt.

Raina is a massive fan of Jaiswal's willpower and never-say-die attitude. Although Gaikwad doesn't speak much or show many emotions on the field, Raina believes the CSK skipper can step up when needed.

However, Raina's biggest claim was that Shubman Gill could be India's next captain after Rohit Sharma. He opined:

"He (Shubman) is very strong from the heart. Now that he is leading GT, he is going to be a superstar in the coming years. I would say he would say he will be the next Indian captain. He reads the game very well. He has the body language that we've seen with Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin in the past."

With Rohit Sharma soon turning 37, the lack of clarity about the future of Indian cricket in terms of leadership across formats remains a topic of debate. Gill's Gujarat Titans are currently eighth in the IPL 2024 points table with three wins from seven games.
