"He was dancing more than we expected" - Quick Style member opens up on the dance group's famous collaboration with Virat Kohli
A member of Norwegian hip-hop/urban dance group Quick Style recently opened up on their collaboration with Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli in March last year. Describing the former Indian captain as a down-to-earth person, the dance group member quipped that Kohli danced a lot more than they expected.
Kohli's dance video with the Norwegian dance group Quick Style went viral on social media last year. The Indian batter interacted with the famous dance group after the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In March 2023, Kohli took to his official Instagram handle and shared a video in which he was seen grooving with Quick Style on 'Stereo Nation's' song 'Ishq'.
During a recent interaction shared on ICC's official Instagram handle recently, one of the members of Quick Style recalled the Norwegian dance group's famous collaboration with Kohli, saying:
"We connected through music as well. That song that we did with him is actually his favorite song. We have been showing and listening to the songs on Instagram before, but we never did anything to it. And then, we spoke with him and then we're like let's do something on that song one.
"It was a very casual, friendly conversation. He was very down to earth. We just met and everything just happened naturally," he added.
When asked if they expected Kohli to perform smooth dance moves, the member candidly replied:
"No. We did not. He was dancing more than we expected."
The dance clip of the Quick Style-Kohli collaboration begins with a member of the dance group lifting a bat. The cricketer then enters, dressed casually in a t-shirt and black pants. He takes the bat and starts dancing, with the members of Quick Style also joining in.
The video was jointly shared by Kohli and Quick Style’s Instagram accounts and garnered plenty of views.
Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the 2nd Test against New Zealand
Kohli was part of the Indian team that went down to New Zealand by eight wickets in the first Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The 35-year-old was among the five Indian batters who were dismissed for ducks in the first innings as India folded up for a mere 46.
He scored 70 in the second innings, but could not prevent New Zealand from registering their first Test triumph in India since 1988. The former India captain will be keen to come up with a big knock when the hosts take on the Kiwis in the second Test in Pune from October 24 to 28.
