"He is only an IPL player"- Fans react as Sanju Samson is dismissed cheaply again in IND vs BAN 2024 2nd T20I

Team India wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson was dismissed cheaply in the ongoing T20I match against Bangladesh on Wednesday, October 9. The second game of the three-match T20I series is being hosted by the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Samson walked out to the middle alongside Abhishek Sharma and started with positive intent. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper hit a boundary off the second ball he faced and added another one to his tally immediately after.

A period of lull followed before he looked to up the ante but mistimed his stroke and was caught at mid-off by Bangladesh skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto for 10 runs.

Fans were visibly disappointed with his efforts in the middle, with the Kerala batter failing to make use of the start he got in the last T20I as well. Take a look at the reactions below:

"Bhai mere chances ab nhi milege jab tak pant nhi ha tab tak accha khel le. 30-40 runs toh mar le warna gaali hi khaega," a user said.
"If Sanju Samson keeps wasting the opportunities, fans will have to trend 'Justice for Team India' soon," another user quipped.
"Sanjay Samson's decision was good. 10 runs on the strength of hitting is no big deal, the next player will do the rest," a third user commented.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After a 15 run opening over, Bangladesh came back in the contest, accounting for the wickets of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma (15 off 11) and Suryakumar Yadav (8 off 10).

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh are in the middle for the hosts and have done well to recover from a precarious positon. Team India have lost only one T20I against Bangladesh out of the 15 times they have played, with the loss coming at the same venue back in 2019.
