"He is not like Virat Kohli and doesn't jump around" - Kapil Dev on Rohit Sharma ahead of IND vs ENG T20 World Cup semifinal

Former Indian legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev has highlighted the difference between the processes that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma utilize to show how different players can be successful by using different methods.

While Kohli focuses a lot on his fitness and spends hours in the gym, Kapil reckons Rohit's strength is that the knows his limitations and operates within them. The 1983 World Cup-winning captain also shed light on how Kohli is fired up on the field while Rohit maintains a calm demeanor.

Speaking on ABP News, here's what Kapil Dev had to say about Rohit Sharma:

"If Virat Kohli can lift 150 kg and 250kg dumbbells, that doesn't mean Rohit should do the same. It seems like Rohit knows his game very well. He plays within himself. He is not like Virat Kohli and doesn't jump around. Rohit is aware of his limitations and there is no one better than him in that respect, not even Virat. Rohit has one pack and that is enough to hit big sixes."

Rohit has been in incredible form in the T20 World Cup so far and is Indias highest scorer with 191 runs from six games at a strike rate of almost 160. He smashed a sizzling 92 off just 41 balls against Australia proving what he is capable of when in full swing.

Kapil Dev lauds Rohit Sharma for putting team first

Kapil Dev also termed Rohit Sharma a selfless captain, claiming that while many leaders prioritize personal motives, Rohit focuses on the welfare of the team. He said during the same discussion:

"Many big players come, but they come for themselves, even do captaincy for themselves but Rohit gets one extra tick in the box because he keeps the entire team happy."

Rohit has been pretty vocal about not focusing on 50s and 100s while batting, and that is the aggressive brand of cricket India will want to play when they face England in the T20 World Cup semifinal in Guyana on Thursday, June 27.
