“He’s one for the future” - Fans react to Dhruv Jurel’s 80-run knock against Australia A in 2nd unofficial Test 2024
Fans were impressed with India A wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who was the standout performer with the bat on Day 1 (Thursday, November 7) of the second unofficial Test against Australia A. The rest of the lineup faltered. The match is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
After being asked to bat first, Ruturaj Gaikwad's side got off to a disastrous start, losing four wickets in just three overs. Abhimanyu Easwaran (0), KL Rahul (4), Sai Sudharsan (0), and Gaikwad (4) all failed to make a significant contribution.
Coming in at number 6, Dhruv Jurel played a brilliant knock, scoring 80 runs off 186 balls, which included six boundaries and two sixes, helping India A post 161 in their first innings. Meanwhile, Michael Neser was the top bowler for Australia A, claiming four wickets.

Dhruv Jurel made his India debut earlier this year against England
The 23-year-old made his India debut in the series against England earlier this year. In the fourth Test of the series in Ranchi, he impressed with a brilliant 90-run knock.
He also remained unbeaten on 39 off 77 balls in the fourth innings, helping the hosts chase down a target of 192 to win by five wickets. In total, he has featured in three Tests, scoring 190 runs.
Additionally, the keeper-batter made his T20I debut during the series against Zimbabwe, playing in two matches.
