"Head biopic title - The Nightmare of Rohit Sharma"- Top 10 funny memes as Australia takes 157-run lead in 2nd BGT 2024-25 Test vs India

Australia continued their domination in the second Test against India with a strong batting performance in the first two sessions of Day 2 to put themselves in the driver's seat in the day-night Test. They managed to score 337 runs in their first innings and took an impressive lead of 157 at the halfway stage of the contest.

The hosts began the second day with an overnight score of 86/1 in the afternoon session. Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets in the first hour of play to give his side a decent start. However, Travis Head (140) and Marnus Labuschagne (64) put on a 65-run partnership for the fourth wicket to steady things. Labuschagne played watchfully and returned to form with a gritty half-century.

Hometown hero Head tormented India yet again with a scintillating century that helped Australia take a sizeable lead. The visiting team eventually bundled the hosts for 337 in 87.3 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj scalping four wickets apiece.

"It is just baffling" - Sunil Gavaskar slams India's bowling tactics against Australian batter Travis Head during Day 2 of 2nd BGT 2024-25 Test

Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar criticized Team India for their poor strategies against Travis Head and for not using short ball tactics, as he played another match-defining knock in the Adelaide Test.

Speaking on the matter to the broadcasters, Gavaskar said (as quoted by India Today):

"We've always been talking about the fact that Travis Head needs to be tested with the short ball. India never does that. They will occasionally try that. It is just baffling. You've heard about it at the World Test Championship final when we eventually started bouncing him, he started to get into a little bit of an uncomfortable situation."

He added:

"Similarly, in the World Cup final, they never tested him. Even here, we hardly ever tested it with the bouncer. You pitch it up, pitch it at a length on these kinds of pitches with the ball not moving, he is going to throw his bat at you. He might get it off the middle of the mat, He might get it off the edge of the bat, but he is gonna put you under pressure. India never tried to put Travis Head under pressure."
