The hosts were again unbeaten and won the tournament by beating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final in Jaipur. The 2008 edition was held in Sri Lanka, with Bangladesh making their debut. India lifted their fourth title with a 177-run hammering of Sri Lanka in the final in Kurunegala.

The Women's Asia Cup was held for the first time in the T20I format in Guangzhou in 2012. A total of eight teams participated in the event, with Thailand, China, Nepal, and Hong Kong joining the other four teams. India beat Pakistan by 18 runs in the final.
