Pakistan collapse after Mohammed Siraj broke Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan's partnership

Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first in the contest. Abdullah Shafique (20) and Imam-ul-Haq (36) gave their side a decent start but could not convert their starts.

Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) came together at 73/2 and stitched together an 82-run partnership to stabilize things. Pakistan looked in a good position at that juncture and on track for a decent total.

Mohammed Siraj broke the threatening stand by dismissing Babar Azam in the 30th over. Things went downhill for Pakistan from there as their batting line-up collapsed meekly. They lost all their remaining wickets after adding just 46 runs after Babar's dismissal. Pakistan got fallout for 191 in 42.5 overs.

All the bowlers except Shardul Thakur scalped two wickets apiece for India in the bowling department. Reflecting on his spell at innings break, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav said:

"I knew where to bowl and it was a difficult wicket to bowl on. It was on the slower side. I was just focussing on the length and trying to keep it wicket-to-wicket, varying my pace and bowling my variations.
"I was bowling really well, not giving them too much width. Rizwan did not sweep me at all, so I tried to keep it wicket-to-wicket and wanted him to play a bad shot."
