"I felt something awkward and weird moving in the room" - Dinesh Karthik recalls his paranormal experience in South Africa
Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently opened up on experiencing paranormal activities while touring South Africa with the India A team. He recalled that the team was stationed in Sun City.
Karthik disclosed that while he isn't sure about what he witnessed, he certainly felt something moving in his room during the night. Narrating the incident, the cricketer-commentator said in a video uploaded by Cricbuzz on YouTube (from 3:51):
"When we were staying in Sun City, I felt something awkward and weird moving in the room in the night at a weird time. I don't know exactly what it was but I can tell you, it was a scary feeling."
On the cricketing front, Dinesh Karthik was last seen in action during the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. He played some explosive knocks for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), finishing with 326 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 187.35.
The seasoned campaigner announced his retirement from the sport on June 1, his 39th birthday. He was later roped in by RCB as their batting coach and mentor.
It is worth mentioning that Karthik will return to the cricket field in the upcoming edition of South Africa's SA20. He was signed by Paarl Royals earlier this month.
"I would love to swap lives with AR Rahman" - Dinesh Karthik
In the aforementioned video, Dinesh Karthik also answered a fan question about which celebrity would he want to swap lives with for a week. The cricket star stated that he would pick music maestro AR Rahman.
He mentioned that he is a big AR Rahman fan and would love to know more about his thought process and creativity. Karthik said (from 2:23):
"I would love to swap lives with AR Rahman. Been his biggest fan, never met him, I would love to see how much creativity goes through. I mean, he is a genius par excellence. I've loved his music and how consistent he has been for almost three decades. I would love to go into his brain and see what ticking. I've heard he works a lot through the night. That'll be a challenge but I still wouldn't mind getting into his brain."
Dinesh Karthik is part of the broadcasting team for Sky Sports in the ongoing The Hundred 2025 in England.
