"I look for inspiration in everyone" - Arshdeep Singh after winning the T20 World Cup for India
Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has opened up on whom he idolizes as a professional cricketer. Arshdeep stated that for him, it wasn't necessarily a cricketer that he took inspiration from as he felt he had a lot to learn from different people who achieve success in their day-to-day lives.
The left-arm pacer was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 scalps to his name at an economy rate of just 7.16.
After coming back home from the T20 World Cup win, Arshdeep Singh visited Chandigarh University, which felicitated him for his exploits in the tournament. Speaking to the reporters, here's what Arshdeep had to say:
"As a player, I look for inspiration in everyone, be it a daily wager, a student topping his classes, or a professor. I try getting inspired by the ones doing well in their lives. The message to the youth is that they keep continuing to giving their best, controlling what they can. Keep working hard. You will get the fruits of your hard work."
Arshdeep produced sensational figures of 2/20 in the final against South Africa and his spell included the big wickets of opposition captain Aiden Markram and explosive batter Quinton de Kock.
Arshdeep Singh on the possibility of playing Test cricket for India
Recently in an interview with The Indian Express, Arshdeep Singh had opened up about the dream he had of playing Test cricket for India and the discussions that he had with Jasprit Bumrah as to how he could improve on his bowling.
On this, here's what Arshdeep Singh had to say when asked by the reporters about his red-ball dream:
"As a player, you want to give your 100 per cent no matter what format. This is my thinking too. I would give my best if given a chance."
Former Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey had also shed light on the possibility of Arshdeep potentially making his Test debut in India's Test series away to Australia later this year, especially if there's a possibility of playing four pacers.
