"I think we need to think more about Indian cricket" - Sanjay Manjrekar dismisses question on Virat Kohli's form in T20 World Cup

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar doesn't want to focus on whether Virat Kohli's form is a cause for concern for the Men in Blue after they won their Super 8 encounter against Afghanistan in Barbados on Thursday, June 20. The star batter had another ordinary outing where he scored 24 off 24 balls and failed to capitalize on the start.

Several former cricketers and cricket experts have claimed that Kohli is not too far away from having that one big innings. However, Manjrekar has claimed that the focus needs to shift as the Men in Blue delivered a clinical performance as a team.

Here's what Sanjay Manjrekar told ESPNCricinfo:

"I think we need to think more about Indian cricket and less about whether Virat Kohli is in form or not."

With the margin of victory being 47 runs, India have a healthy net run rate of +2.35. While Manjrekar claimed that the Men in Blue will not get into a situation where they need net run rate to get them through, he believes the big win has secured that way for Rohit Sharma and his men.

Sanjay Manjrekar on Jasprit Bumrah's sensational spell

Sanjay Manjrekar also hailed Jasprit Bumrah's sensational performance against Afghanistan. The star pacer delivered mind-blowing figures of 3/7 in his four overs and broke the back of their batting line-up.

On this, here's what Manjrekar said on ESPNCricinfo:

“Jasprit Bumrah is performing in USA and West Indies just like Sunil Narine at Eden Gardens during the IPL. He's looking even better and when you look at all the top-class bowlers around the world. There's a big margin between them and Bumrah and India is so fortunate to have him in your playing 11."

Bumrah has bowled 15 overs in the T20 World Cup so far, picking up eight wickets at a mind-boggling economy rate of just 3.5.
