"I've been in touch with Virat Kohli"- Novak Djokovic opens up on his relationship with star Indian cricketer

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic recently spoke about his relationship with Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli. Djokovic said that he has had chats with Kohli online, but they have never met in real life.

Ahead of the 2024 Australian Open, Novak Djokovic participated in a special charity event, where he played tennis with Australian batter Steve Smith. Later, the two sporting icons also played some cricket together. Djokovic even hit a big shot off Smith's bowling.

Speaking with Sony Sports Network, Novak Djokovic opened up on his connection with cricketers and said:

"I've great relationships with eminent personalities like Sachin, Virat and many others. I've been in touch with Virat Kohli over texts for a few years, but we have never met in person. It was a privilege to hear him speak kindly about me. I admire his career and achievements."

In the same interview, Novak Djokovic mentioned that he wants to explore India's rich history soon. The Serbian tennis player has visited India only once. He came to New Delhi for an exhibition event in December, 2014.

It is a little surprising to know that Novak Djokovic and Virat Kohli have never met each other because the tennis star turned up for the UAE Royals in International Premier Tennis League 2015.

Kohli was a co-owner of the Royals team. Djokovic did not participate in the competition due to fatigue, but it looks like he did not meet Kohli while signing the contract for the tournament as well.

Kohli and Djokovic have inspired millions of fans with their incredible performances in their respective sports. Their mental strength has played a massive role in their success. Sports fans would love to see a candid chat between the two stars one day.
