Pakistan cruised to their second consecutive win against England on Saturday, October 26, and climbed up to seventh position in the ICC World Test Championship points table. After being down 0-1 in the three-match series, Pakistan made a fantastic comeback to defeat the Ben Stokes-led outfit 2-1.
Earlier today, Pakistan completed a nine-wicket victory against England at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Thanks to this win, Pakistan now have 33.33 percentage points to their name in the ICC World Test Championship points table. They have moved up from eighth to seventh spot in the standings.
England, meanwhile, have dropped down from fifth to sixth spot in the ICC World Test Championship points table after losing the series against Pakistan. Their points percentage has come down from 43.06% to 40.79% after the defeat at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Speaking about the Rawalpindi Test, spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were the chief architects of Pakistan's win. The two spinners combined to take 19 wickets as the hosts crushed England by nine wickets.
New Zealand can move up to 4th position in ICC World Test Championship points table soon
Inaugural WTC winners New Zealand are currently in a dominant position against India in the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The Kiwis already have a 1-0 lead in the series, and if they defeat India again, they will climb up from fifth to fourth position in the standings. Their points percentage will improve from 44.44% to 50% with a win.
India, on the other hand, will remain the number one team in the World Test Championship points table even if they lose against New Zealand. However, their points percentage would reduce from 68.06% to 62.82%. Second-placed Australia are at 62.50%, which will be just 0.32% less than India if New Zealand win in Pune.
