"If I do my job well, there's nobody in the world who can stop me" - Jasprit Bumrah on if he has found it tough to bowl to any batter

Team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was recently asked to name a batter he has found it tough to bowl at. The speedster mentioned that he doesn't want any batter to have a psychological advantage against him.

Bumrah emphasized that he tells himself that if he gets into the groove, he can dominate the proceedings against any batter. Speaking at a college function in Chennai, the champion bowler said:

"Look I want to give a good answer but the real factor is that I don't want anyone to take over me in my head because obviously I respect everyone, but in my head, I tell myself that if I do my job well, there's nobody in the world who can stop me."
"So I look at myself rather than the opponent so if I think that I have control over everything and if I give myself the best opportunity, everything else will take care of itself rather than giving the power to the batsman that he'll get the better of me and he's better than me, so that I don't want to."

Jasprit Bumrah was last seen in action at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The right-arm seamer enjoyed an imperious run at the event and was instrumental in India's title win. He was adjudged the Player of the Tournament, bagging 15 wickets from eight outings at a fantastic economy rate of 4.17.

"Could have been selected for the Duleep trophy" - Sanjay Manjrekar on Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Many of India's capped players will be seen in action in the first round of the upcoming 17th edition of the Duleep Trophy. The likes of Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul are set to participate in the red-ball domestic tournament.

Speaking about the tournament, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar reckoned that senior players like Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli should also have played in the Duleep Trophy.

The cricketer-turned-commentator wrote on X:

"India has played 249 international matches in the last 5 years. Rohit has played only 59% of those. Virat 61 % & Bumrah 34%. I see them as well rested India players. Could have been selected for the Duleep trophy."

Jasprit Bumrah was rested for India's tour of Sri Lanka. Recent reports suggest that he could be rested for the two-match home Test series against Bangladesh as well. The series kicks off in Chennai on September 19.
