"If Netravalkar doesn't get Oracle's Employee of the Year, nobody should" - Twitter reacts to Netravalkar's new ball spell in IND vs USA clash

United States of America (USA) pace bowler Saurabh Netravalkar sent shockwaves through the Indian top order in the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup clash. The left-arm pacer dismissed both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma inside the powerplay at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday, June 12.

USA's hopes were pinned on Netravalkar and his ability to move the new ball after they posted 110-8 after being put into bat first. He continued his excellent run of form by dismissing Virat Kohli for a golden duck, which marks the first time that the ace batter has departed without scoring in T20 World Cup history.

Kohli could not resist going after a wide delivery outside the off stump, but ended up nicking it to wicket-keeper Andries Gous.

Getting the ball to move both ways in the air and off the surface, the left-arm seamer made things quite uncomfortable for the Indian batters. He ended up conceding only a couple of runs in his first over.

His second over was as potent as his first. Netravalkar got the prized wicket of Rohit Sharma almost immediately. The Indian skipper tried to flick it over midwicket, but the scrambled seam delivery stopped a bit on the surface. The ball ended up making contact with the outside half of the bat, bringing mid-off into play. Harmeet Singh completed a tricky running catch to seal the wicket.

Fans hailed the pacer's new ball display. Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:

"Saurabh Netravalkar will have to private or close comments of his Linkedin account," one fan tweeted.
"How much more this netravalkar wants to achieve in life bro past mein jaake sachin ka bhi wicket lega kya," one tweet read.
"Imagine the reception Netravalkar is going to get when he resumes work," another fan tweeted.

India vs USA clash poised well after Netravalkar's early strikes

The left-arm seamer was given a third over on the trot. After having troubled Suryakumar Yadav early on, the batter responded with a brilliant six. Just as India were looking to stabilize after the early blows, Ali Khan dismissed Rishabh Pant to leave the Men in Blue reeling at 39-3.

Team India needed 72 runs off 72 deliveries at the time of writing, with the duo of Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube currently at the crease.
