"In this era of Mamba Mentality, we’re soon all going to embrace the GG Mentality too"- Nitish Rana on KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Nitish Rana posed along with the team's mentor, Gautam Gambhir, with the IPL 2024 trophy and shared a snapshot of a pre-season conversation between them. The post was made after KKR won their third IPL trophy on Sunday.

Rana recently revealed that he messaged Gambhir after he returned to KKR as a mentor before the current season. Gambhir then thanked him for the gesture and encouraged him to dream and work towards achieving their goal of winning the trophy at the end of IPL 2024 and went on to manifest it.

Things did turn out positively for them and the entire KKR contingent. They performed dominantly throughout the tournament and lifted the trophy on May 26 with a thumping win against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final.

Nitish Rana took to his official Instagram handle and lauded Gambhir's mentality by sharing a snippet of their private conversation through a picture. He captioned the post:

"In this era of Mamba Mentality, we’re soon all going to embrace the GG Mentality too. #manefestation #ggmentality."

"I really wish he comes in" - Dinesh Karthik on Gautam Gambhir potentially becoming next head coach for Team India

Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently revealed that he wants to see Gautam Gambhir as the next head coach of the Indian team.

He appreciated Gambhir's good work with LSG and KKR in IPL and feels that the 2011 World Cup winner could infuse a winning culture in the Indian team. Speaking to Cricbuzz on the matter, Karthik said:

"He has really built a good team, one that will have a lot of players retained, and he's left them in a very, very good place. If he gets the opportunity, I really wish he takes it. Being part of the national team and the patriotism that he has, I think he will definitely be tempted to take it. I really wish he comes in because he will infuse that winning culture he's infused here, and India would do very well under him."

He continued:

"When it comes to KKR, whenever he's back, they'll take him back with open arms. What a record he's had as a coach. Being the mentor for LSG, two years on the bounce qualifying, comes to KKR, and they say, 'Please, got to do something special for us', ends up with the trophy. He's been at the helm, taken all the decisions, be it sending Narine opening, or getting Mitchell Starc in the auction."
