[In Picture] "Anything is possible when it's THALAIVAR'S BIRTHDAY" - Sanju Samson's unique wish for Rajinikanth
Team India' wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson extended birthday wishes to Indian cinema's superstar Rajinikanth as the popular actor turned 74 on Thursday, December 12. He wished Rajinikanth a happy birthday in some style.
Samson took the help of artificial intelligence to generate a picture of him dancing next to Rajinikanth. Posting the photograph on his Instagram story, the Kerala-based cricketer wrote:
"Anything is possible when it's THALAIVARS BIRTHDAY!!"
It is worth mentioning that Samson is a huge fan of Rajinikanth and has spoken about his admiration for the movie star on multiple occasions. When he was just seven years old, he promised his parents that he would meet the ace actor one day.
Samson's childhood dream came true last year and he shared a picture of him posing alongside Rajinikanth. He wrote:
"At the age of 7 already being a Super Rajni fan,,I told my parents ..See one day I will go and meet Rajni sir in his house…After 21 years, that day has come when The Thalaivar invited me.."
On the cricketing front, Sanju Samson represented his home state, Kerala, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). He scored 136 runs across five outings at a strike rate of 149.45. Kerala failed to qualify for the knockout round.
"It was a special kind of feeling for me" - When Sanju Samson opened up on his meeting with Rajinikanth
Sanju Samson revealed that he always wanted to meet Rajinikanth at the actor's residence. He also stated that he received a call from the 74-year-old after the Rajasthan Royals (RR) qualified for the IPL final in 2022.
Sharing details of his conversation and subsequent meeting with Rajinikanth, Samson was quoted as saying by the Times of India:
"It became really special when he called me up last year when we reached the finals of the IPL. His family watch a lot of cricket and they were supporting Rajasthan Royals in the finals. The kids in the family were apparently fans of RR and so they reached out to me through his manager. I was like I am a huge fan of Rajini sir and how can this happen like this."
"The manager called me up and connected me to Rajinikanth sir and I said, 'Sir, Na unga periya fan' and he responded with his trademark laughter. He then invited me home. It was unbelievable. When I went and met him I told him how special he is to me since my childhood," he added.
Sanju Samson has been in brilliant form in T20Is lately. The dynamic batter has three T20I tons to his name in the last five innings.
