“I wanted to perform and show what I am capable of”- Sanju Samson reflects as he smashes a record-breaking century in the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh

Sanju Samson delivered an outstanding performance, scoring the second-fastest century by an Indian player in just 40 balls during the third T20I against Bangladesh. He now ranks just behind former Indian T20I captain Rohit Sharma, who holds the record for the fastest century off 35 balls.

Reflecting on his innings during the post-match presentation, Sanju said:

“The dressing room energy and the boys really have lots of happiness for me. I am very happy. They are happy that I did well. Playing for the country, you come in with a lot of pressure. That pressure was there, I wanted to perform and I wanted to show what I am capable of. I kept reminding myself I just need to keep it as basic as possible, focus on one ball at a time, keep playing my shots.”

Sanju also received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 111 runs off 47 balls.
