India cricketer Shubman Gill enjoyed a relaxing evening with his family, sharing a meal after Day 1 of the third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) on Saturday, December 14, in Brisbane.

Shubman’s sister Shahneel Gill shared a photo from the moment on her Instagram Stories, featuring their parents — father Lakhwinder Singh and mother Keart Gill.

Day 1 of the third Test was heavily affected by rain, with only 13.2 overs bowled in the first session, while the second and third sessions were entirely washed out. Australia ended the day at 28 without loss, with Usman Khawaja (19) and Nathan McSweeney (4) at the crease.

Meanwhile, Shubman returned to the team in the second Test after missing the first due to an injury to his left thumb. In the second (pink ball) Test, he got off to a start but couldn’t convert it into a big score, managing 31 and 28 in the two innings. The visitors struggled overall, suffering a crushing 10-wicket defeat. India won the first match in Perth.


Australia fight back after losing two early wickets on Day 2 of the 3rd BGT Test

In the morning session of Day 2 of the 2024-25 BGT third Test, Jasprit Bumrah claimed two early wickets for India, dismissing Australian openers Usman Khawaja (21) and Nathan McSweeney (9). Soon after, Nitish Kumar Reddy made an impact by removing Marnus Labuschagne for 12, leaving the hosts at 75-3.

Last match's centurion Travis Head, along with Steven Smith, took charge and steered Australia to 104-3 at lunch.

In the post-lunch session, Australia took control, with Head playing an attacking innings to bring up his fifty off 71 balls, while Smith reached his half-century off 128 balls. At the time of writing, Australia were 227-3 after 68 overs, with Head on 98 and Smith on 63.

The BGT 2024-25 is currently tied at 1-1.
