Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma shared a picture on social media from his visit to the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, December 7, alongside his sister, Komal Sharma.

The Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is a revered Hindu shrine located in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. It is dedicated to Vaishno Devi, who is believed to be the combined form of the three powerful goddesses—Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasarasvati.

On Saturday, the 24-year-old took to Instagram to share a couple of pictures featuring his sister. Abhishek Sharma captioned the post:

“Jai Mata Di.”

Abhishek was recently in action during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024, where he led Punjab. However, the team missed out on a quarter-final spot, finishing third in their group with 20 points after winning five of their seven games.

In their final league match against Meghalaya, the opener was in scintillating form, scoring a 28-ball century, tying with Urvil Patel for the second-fastest century in T20 cricket. The record for the fastest century is held by Sahil Chauhan, who achieved a 27-ball century for Estonia against Cyprus in June this year.

Chasing a target of 143, Abhishek remained unbeaten on 106 off 29 balls, smashing eight boundaries and 11 sixes as Punjab successfully chased down the target in just 9.3 overs. Overall, the left-hander scored 255 runs in seven matches, including one fifty and one hundred.

Abhishek Sharma has played 12 T20Is for India

The Punjab cricketer had an outstanding IPL 2024 with the SunRisers Hyderabad, scoring 484 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 204.21, including three fifties.

Shortly after, he earned a call-up to the national team for the T20I series against Zimbabwe. Although he was dismissed for a duck in his debut match, he made a strong comeback in the second game, blasting a century with 100 runs off 47 balls.

Since then, Abhishek Sharma has represented India in 12 T20Is, accumulating 256 runs, including one century and a fifty.
