[In Pictures] "Another year older, another year more fabulous" - Yuzvendra Chahal shares birthday wish for wife Dhanashree Verma
Yuzvendra Chahal's wife Dhanashree Verma is celebrating her birthday on Friday, September 27. The Indian leg spinner shared a sweet post on social media, wishing his better half a happy birthday.
Chahal shared multiple pictures of themselves on his official Instagram account. Wishing his wife a happy birthday, the star cricketer captioned the post:
"Another year older, another year more fabulous! Happy Birthday, love." 🤍🎂"
Dhanashree Verma graduated as a dentist from Mumbai's DY Patil College. On the professional front, she works as a dancer and a choreographer. Interestingly, Yuzvendra Chahal first approached Dhanashree during the COVID-19 lockdown for dance lessons.
Speaking about their love story on Ranveer Allahbadia's YouTube channel, Dhanashree mentioned that she didn't know who Chahal was when she first received a message from him on Instagram.
Sharing that she was impressed by the cricketer's decency, Dhanashree said:
"When I stopped watching cricket, that’s when he made his debut for India. It was good because when he messaged regarding dance classes, I had no clue who Yuzi Chahal was. He was dancing sincerely and doing his homework as well. Decency is what I loved about him. I liked the direct approach. He was straight up that, ‘mujhe shaadi karni hai.'"
The two tied the knot on December 22, 2020. Dhanashree has often been seen cheering for Chahal from the stands in the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal is part of Northamptonshire for the ongoing County Championship Division Two
Yuzvendra Chahal made a comeback to the national team after being picked for the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup. While it was a title-winning campaign for the Men in Blue, the 34-year-old was benched throughout the tournament.
Despite not getting a single game, he was dropped from India's T20I team following the showpiece event. The crafty spinner was roped in by Northamptonshire for the County Championship Division Two.
He also featured in the side's last match of the One-Day Cup, where he impressed many with a stunning five-wicket haul. Chahal looked in impressive form in the subsequent red-ball matches, bagging 19 wickets from seven innings in the County Championship Divison Two.
