[In Pictures] BCCI present Prime Minister Narendra Modi with special Indian jersey after T20 World Cup triumph

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Binny presented a special customized Indian T20 World Cup jersey to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, July 4. The jersey had 'NAMO' printed on the back, which are the initials of the Prime Minister's name and surname, with #1.

Stuck in Barbados until Wednesday due to the threat of Hurricane Beryl, Team India finally arrived on Indian shores in the early hours of Thursday and met Prime Minister Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.

The entire team took pictures with Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister also posed with the T20 World Cup trophy. Here are the pictures of the Prime Minister with the special jersey and the one with the whole team:

The Men in Blue finally laid their hands on their second T20 World Cup title after 17 long years as they beat the Proteas by seven runs in Barbados.


Indian players expressed their emotions on meeting the Prime Minister

The players were honoured to meet the Prime Minister and some even took to social media to express their happiness. Here's what Virat Kohli wrote as a caption to his photos with Narendra Modi:

"What a great honour meeting our honourable prime minister shri narendra modi ji today @narendramodi Thank you sir for inviting us to the prime ministers residence. 🇮🇳"

Indian left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav also expressed how honoured he felt on meeting the Prime Minister and wrote:

"Honoured to have met our Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi Sir, and shared our joy with him. Thank you for hosting us so warmly; we were truly touched. 🇮🇳"

Jasprit Bumrah met Narendra Modi with his entire family and here's what he wrote:

"It was an honour to be invited to our honourable Prime Minister’s residence this morning. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality sir @narendramodi."

The Men in Blue are scheduled to have an open-top bus parade for the fans at around 5pm IST in Mumbai, starting at the National Centre of Performing Arts in Nariman Point and ending at the Wankhede Stadium.
