[In Pictures] Dinesh Karthik watches Wimbledon matches with his wife Dipika Pallikal in London

Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was recently spotted watching the 2024 Wimbledon Championship in London with his wife Dipika Pallikal. Karthik, who is currently in England doing commentary for Sky Sports, is also spending some quality time with his family.

He turned up for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024 earlier this year. It was his farewell season as he bid adieu to competitive cricket. Karthik had a decent time with the bat, scoring 326 runs across 15 games at an impressive strike rate of 187.

Along with the likes of Virat Kohli, he played a vital role in turning RCB's fortunes after a poor start and helped the franchise reach playoffs. However, their journey ended in the first Eliminator after the loss against Rajasthan Royals. Karthik ended his career with a knock of 11 (13) in the knockout encounter.

Dinesh Karthik took to his official X handle and shared a couple of pictures to give his fans a glimpse of his recent activities after ending his playing career. He could be seen watching Wimbledon matches in London with his wife.

Dinesh Karthik appointed as RCB's batting coach after his retirement post-IPL 2024

RCB have recently appointed Dinesh Karthik as their new batting coach and mentor for the upcoming season. He will join head coach Andy Flower, bowling coach Adam Griffith, and director of cricket Mo Bobat in the support staff at the franchise.

In a video uploaded by RCB on their social media platforms after the announcement, Karthik expressed his excitement about the new role and looked forward to facing the challenges.

"Across the length and breadth of the world, fans keep supporting RCB. And to have been a part of the team as a player and now that I’ve got the opportunity to be a mentor and a batting coach, I am looking forward to it,” Karthik said.
“Please be there for me like you were for me as a player. I will do the best I can. There is one unfulfilled goal, isn’t it — winning the title? As a player, very very close to it a few times. But as a coach, I promise you, we’ll make it happen. RCB lifting the trophy is going to hap," he added.
