[In Pictures] LSG’s Deepak Hooda shares heartwarming photos of his wedding

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) all-rounder Deepak Hooda shared first pictures with his wife days after tying the knot on Friday, July 19. Without revealing her name, Hooda informed that he got married to his better half on July 15. The couple got hitched in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in the presence of loved ones.

In one of the many photos shared on Instagram, Hooda and his wife were looking at each other as they posed for the camera. The 29-year-old added that he had to wait nine years to marry his beloved, who hails from Himachal Pradesh.

Deepak Hooda captioned the post:

“After nine years of waiting, every moment, every dream, and every conversation led us to this beautiful day. Excuse us if we hold onto each other a little longer, knitting stories only our hearts can hear, and if we seem a little lost, because we have finally found each other.”
“Welcome home, my little-pittle Himachali girl❤️ [15.07.2024] Surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, and showered with their blessings, we began ours forever. Our hearts are full, thanks to all of you,” he added.

On the professional front, Hooda was last seen in IPL 2024. The right-hander had a forgetful season, managing just 145 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 138.10, including a solitary half-century. As a result, the Rohtak-born cricketer is unlikely to be retained by the Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

Deepak Hooda has played 10 ODI and 21 T20Is for India, scoring 521 runs with the help of a T20I century. The part-time off-spinner also bagged nine wickets combined in the white-ball formats. The all-rounder played his last T20I against New Zealand in February last year. He will now hope that lady luck shines on him in IPL 2025 to make his national comeback.

“Yes, he [Virat Kohli] can be sat out” - When Kapil Dev dropped a bombshell by picking Deepak Hooda ahead of Virat Kohli in T20Is

Former India World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev had backed Hooda ahead of Kohli in T20Is. The reaction came as under-fire Kohli replaced in-form Hooda during the T20I series in England. He told ABP News in July 2022 (via Wisden):

“Yes, he [Virat Kohli] can be sat out. It will be difficult for him, he’ll have to improve on his performances. Credit to [in-form] Deepak Hooda… if I digress a bit – if the world’s No. 2 bowler R Ashwin can be dropped from the Test side, then the world’s No. 1 batter can also be dropped.”

In that series, Hooda was coming on the back of a century against Ireland and scored 33 in the first T20I. In the second and third T20Is, Kohli returned with scores of 1 and 11, respectively.
