Earlier in July, Rohit received a special welcome from his friends in Mumbai following his arrival at home after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. The group wore a special white T-shirt with the message – “You believe in Karma, we believe in Rohit Sharma.”

Coming from a humble background in Mumbai’s Borivali, Rohit has achieved enough in his 17-year-long international career. Apart from T20 World Cup, he has won five Indian Premier League trophies with Mumbai Indians.
As a player, he has 19234 runs in 483 games across formats, including 49 tons and 106 half-centuries. He is the third-highest run-scorer in the IPL, amassing 6628 runs in 257 games with the help of two centuries and 51 fifties.
There were reports that Rohit will play in the Duleep Trophy to prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh next month. However, the senior batter has been rested alongside Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, reported ESPNCricinfo.
Harbhajan Singh backs Rohit Sharma to play for two more years in international cricket
Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh reckons that Rohit Sharma can play for two more years in international cricket. The statement comes weeks after BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that Rohit will lead India at the WTC final and the Champions Trophy next year.
Harbhajan recently told PTI:
"I don't know how they (Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma) are going to plan their future. Both of them are very sensible guys. I do see a couple of years in both of them to play for India. Red ball cricket... you really need these two guys to play a little bit more than what people are asking.
“You need experience in all formats, whether it's limited overs cricket or Test cricket. You need experienced cricketers to nurture those talents who are coming up. Yes, another two years, I see them playing top-level cricket,” he added.
Rohit Sharma is India’s second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship cycle (2023-25). The opening batter has amassed 700 runs in nine Tests (16 innings), hitting three centuries and as many 50s. He is only behind Yashasvi Jaiswal (1028 runs in nine Tests).
