[In Pictures] MS Dhoni wows fans as he rocks fresh hairstyle
Team India's two-time World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni's style quotient has been a massive hit among the masses. The veteran keeper-batter has often dictated trends with his iconic hairstyles.
The cricket star once again dazzled his fans by sporting a new look. After experimenting with long hair, Dhoni is back with a shorter haircut. Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared pictures on his Instagram handle, giving fans a glimpse of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star's low fade hairdo.
He captioned the post:
"Mahendra Singh Dhoni ๐ฅ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐งจ๐ฃ The One & Only Our Thala ๐ @mahi7781 ๐๐ฅโค๏ธ."
MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He handed over the CSK captaincy reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the season.
The swashbuckling batter came lower down the order for most of CSK's matches. However, he entertained fans with his quick-fire cameos, scoring 161 runs across 73 deliveries.
While there's no official confirmation regarding Dhoni's participation in IPL 2025, the new retention rules would give the seasoned campaigner's fans some hope. As per the rule, Indian players who haven't featured in international cricket for the last five years can be retained as uncapped players. This will allow CSK to retain for just โน4 crore.
"Changed the way India played cricket" - Sanjay Manjrekar on MS Dhoni
Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar recently heaped praise on MS Dhoni. He opined that the wicketkeeper's captaincy stint was instrumental in India's exponential rise in world cricket.
He pointed out how the Men in Blue improved significantly in chasing targets under Dhoni. Speaking on the SportifyWithPRG YouTube channel, the cricketer-turned-commentator said:
"He changed the way India played cricket, that transition happened where Dhoni was a facilitator. He wanted the team to win, India started chasing better in limited-overs cricket ... just the right kind of guy at that time."
It is worth mentioning that MS Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three white-ball ICC tournaments. His tenure began with India clinching the title at the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. He then led the side to ODI World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy wins in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
