On the cricketing front, Prithvi Shaw was part of Mumbai's squad for the ongoing 2024-25 Ranji Trophy. However, he was dropped from the roster after the team's first two matches due to fitness issues. He failed to make a significant impact in those two matches, registering scores of 7,12,1, and 39*.

It is worth mentioning that the right-handed batter managed to make the cut in Mumbai's squad for the upcoming edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, beginning November 23.

Prithvi Shaw sets his base price at ₹75 lakh for IPL 2025 auction

Prithvi Shaw was released by Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. He has set his base price at ₹75 lakh for the auction. The event is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabi, on November 23 and 24.

The swashbuckling batter is set to enter the auction for the first time since 2018. The former India U-19 captain has 1892 runs from 72 matches at a strike rate of 147.47 in the tournament.

Shaw performed underwhelmingly in IPL 2024. He featured in DC's playing XI in just eight matches, finishing with 198 runs at a strike rate of 163.64 and an average of 24.75.

The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have pipped Shaw in the pecking order for Team India's opening spot. The batter's most recent appearance in international cricket dates back to July 25, 2021.

He returned to the national team for the three-match home T20I series against New Zealand last year but didn't get to play a single game.
