Indian batter Rinku Singh has had a fantastic last week. The southpaw was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹13 crore ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction.
The swashbuckling batter had more reasons to celebrate as he purchased a luxurious villa in his hometown, Aligarh. According to a Zee News report, the registration of Rinku's new abode was completed last week.
The talented youngster is now the proud owner of Kothi no. 38 of The Golden Estate in the Ozone township. The size of the bungalow is said to be 500-square-feet.

It is worth mentioning that Rinku Singh comes from a humble background. His father delivered LPG cylinders in Aligarh, while his brother worked as an autorickshaw driver. His rags to riches story is bound to inspire many.
The 27-year-old had an IPL salary of ₹55 lakh until this year. His salary has risen exponentially on the road to the IPL 2025 mega auction.
"I got a job of sweeping and mopping" - When Rinku Singh opened up on going through financial hardships
Rinku Singh may be a household name now but his journey to the top wasn't a cakewalk. In a video shared by KKR on social media in 2023, the left-handed batter disclosed that he was once offered a job of sweeping and mopping at a coaching centre.
He mentioned that he didn't like the work and ended up refusing the job. Rinku stated that he had confidence in his abilities and started working hard on his cricket.
Rinku said (via private X user 'soo washed:'
"When I was just starting out and had yet to play proper cricket, I was asked to join my brother for a job. I got a job of sweeping and mopping in a coaching centre. I refused because I didn't like the work. I told everyone that I will play cricket and I stuck with it. I wasn't very well qualified either but I always believed cricket would take me places. I didn't have any other option so I put all my focus on cricket. I worked really hard and all those efforts are bearing fruit now."
Rinku Singh was KKR's first-choice retention ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The reigning champions also retained Sunil Narine (₹12 crore), Andre Russell (₹12 crore), Varun Chakravarthy (₹12 crore), Harshit Rana (₹4 crore), and Ramandeep Singh (₹4 crore).
