[In Pictures] Rishabh Pant poses with Virat Kohli in gym ahead of BGT 2024-25 pink-ball Test

On Tuesday, December 3, India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared pictures with former skipper Virat Kohli and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. The post came three days ahead of the pink-ball Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will begin in Adelaide on December 6.

Sharing the snapshots, Pant wrote on X:

"Progress over perfection."

Take a look:

Rishabh Pant looked brilliant in the first innings of the series opener in Perth, scoring 37 runs. The southpaw failed to deliver in the second essay, managing just one run.

He, however, had a brilliant home season, amassing 422 runs in five Tests (10 innings), including a ton. He will now be looking to score big in the second Test.

The 27-year-old has played a solitary Test in Adelaide, scoring 25 and 28, in 2018. Virat Kohli and company won the game by 31 runs before winning the series by a 2-1 margin. He was not picked in the last encounter at the same venue where Australia beat the visitors by eight wickets in 2020.

Pant, however, played a huge role in helping the Ajinkya Rahane-led side complete their second consecutive series win in Australia in 2020-21. The southpaw amassed 274 runs in three Tests at an average of 68.50 with scores of 97 and 89*.

Besides international cricket, Pant became the costliest player in IPL history at the 2025 auction. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) splurged a whooping INR 27 crore to buy him.

Virat Kohli has scored three hundreds in Adelaide

Virat Kohli is coming on the back of his 30th Test century. The 36-year-old scored his seventh ton in Australia during the second innings of the Perth Test. This was his first Test century in 16 months. India won the match by a mammoth margin of 295 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-game series.

Kohli enjoys a stunning record in Adelaide, having scored 509 runs in four Tests at an average of 63.63, including three tons and a half-century. Overall, he has 1457 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 56.04 Down Under. He will look to continue his purple patch in Australia.
