[In Pictures] Rishabh Pant shares snapshots of his consistent knocks from 2022 and 2024 IND vs BAN Test series after memorable comeback

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared pictures of his knocks from 2022 and 2024 Tests against Bangladesh on his comeback to the format after 18 months. With the photos, Pant also shared his journey and consistency in the format.

Notably, Pant had smashed 93 and nine runs in his two innings against Bangladesh in the second Test in Mirpur, where the visitors won by three wickets. The match took place in December 2022, days before his car accident, which kept Pant away from the game for 15 months.

The wicketkeeper-batter made his comeback to competitive cricket with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 earlier this year. It’s worth mentioning that he was part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team.

On his Test comeback, Pant scored 39 and 109 in his two innings against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The southpaw scored his sixth Test century as India won the game by 280 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

“We always knew what he had with the bat and with the gloves as well” – Rohit Sharma lauds Rishabh Pant’s stylish comeback to Tests

India captain Rohit Sharma heaped praise on Rishabh Pant for his impactful century on returning to Test cricket. The 37-year-old credited the wicketkeeper-batter for using the Duleep Trophy to get back into the groove. The skipper said (via Cricbuzz):

“(On Pant's hundred) He's been through some really tough times. The way he has managed himself through those tough times was superb to watch. He came back in the IPL, followed by a very successful World Cup and this is the format he loves the most."
“For us, it was never about what is he going to do with the bat, we always knew what he had with the bat and with the gloves as well. It was just about giving him the game time. Credit to him as well, he went on to play Duleep Trophy and got ready for this Test match and had an impact straightaway in the game,” he added.

Rishabh Pant now has the same number of centuries (six) as former India captain MS Dhoni in Test cricket.
