Rivaba Jadeja, wife of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, took to social media on Friday, December 6, to wish her husband on his 36th birthday. Rivaba is a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, representing the Jamnagar North constituency with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The couple married on April 17, 2016, and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Nidhyana, in June 2017. On Friday, to celebrate Ravindra's birthday, Rivaba took to Instagram to share a few photos with the caption:
“Happy Birthday Darbar.”
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old has not had the chance to play in the ongoing 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as Washington Sundar was preferred in the first Test and Ravichandran Ashwin in the second.
Before this, Jadeja's last appearance was in the three-game home Test series against New Zealand, where the visitors completed a clean sweep. Jadeja took six wickets in the first two matches but made a strong comeback in the final game, claiming two consecutive five-wicket hauls. However, he struggled with the bat throughout the series, accumulating just 105 runs across six innings.
Ravindra Jadeja has represented India in 348 games across formats
The Saurashtra cricketer made his Test debut in 2012 and has since featured in 77 matches, scoring 3,235 runs at an average of 35.16, with 21 fifties and four centuries. The veteran off-spinner has also taken 319 wickets, including 15 five-wicket hauls, ranking fifth on the list of India's highest wicket-takers in the longest format.
Meanwhile, Jadeja has played in 197 ODIs, scoring 2,756 runs at an average of 32.42, including 13 fifties. He has also taken 220 wickets. In addition, Jadeja featured in 74 T20Is for India, amassing 515 runs and taking 54 wickets.
He announced his retirement from the shortest format following India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. India triumphed over South Africa in Barbados to clinch their second T20 title, their first since 2007.
