[In Pictures] Rohit Sharma clicked with Iker Casillas and Abdu Rozik at NBA game in Abu Dhabi

Team India's Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh were in attendance for the NBA preseason opener between Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The Celtics beat Denver 107-103 in the contest.

Apart from Sharma, several other notable names were also present at the venue for the fixture. The cricket star was clicked with legendary Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas. It is worth mentioning that Casillas spent 25 years with Real Madrid, which happens to be Sharma's favorite club.

The opening batter was also seen posing for a picture alongside Tajikistani playback singer and social media influencer Abdu Rozik.

Under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, Team India completed a 2-0 whitewash over Bangladesh in the recently concluded two-match Test series. He will be seen in action next in the Men in Blue's upcoming three-match home Test series against New Zealand, beginning October 16.

"His teammates connect with him very well" - Harbhajan Singh on choosing Rohit Sharma as a better captain than MS Dhoni

Rohit Sharma has earned widespread praise for his leadership. The 37-year-old captained India in their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, helping them end an 11-year ICC trophy drought.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh recently stated that Sharma is a better captain than MS Dhoni. Explaining his choice, here's what he said during an interview with Sports Yaari:

"I chose Rohit above Dhoni because Rohit is people’s captain. He goes up to the people and asks them what they want. His teammates connect with him very well. But Dhoni’s style was different. He didn’t talk to anyone. He wanted to convey his thoughts through his silence. It was his way of communicating with others."

Sharma has a chance of etching his name in history by leading India to their first-ever World Test Championship title. The side are currently the table-toppers of the ongoing cycle, with 98 points and a 74.24 points percentage.
