[In Pictures] Rohit Sharma enjoys beach day with daughter Samaira during the 2024 T20 World Cup
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was recently spotted playing with his daughter Samaira on a beach ahead of their final Group A fixture against Canada. The match will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida on Saturday, June 15.
The Men in Blue have already qualified for the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, having won all three games. They defeated Ireland in their tournament opener before beating Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller. The Asian giants then capped off their New York leg with a comprehensive victory over co-hosts USA.
The Indian contingent will now fly to Florida for their final group game before traveling to the Caribbeans for the Super 8 fixtures. Before their flight to Florida, the cricketers had a day off where they were seen spending time with family.
Rohit Sharma shared a couple of pictures on social media, where he was spotted playing with his daughter Samaira on a beach. The two were seen making a sand castle in one picture, while in the other, Rohit was spotted saving his daughter from the waters.
How has Rohit Sharma fared in the T20 World Cup 2024?
After an average IPL 2024 campaign with the Mumbai Indians (MI), Rohit Sharma made a stellar start to the T20 World Cup. He scored an unbeaten half-century in the opening game against Ireland before being retired hurt after getting hit on the arm.
Rohit seems to have lost the mojo since then and has struggled to get going in India's last two outings. He managed only 13 runs against Pakistan before getting out for three against the USA. The nature of the dismissals was quite similar as the right-handed batter was undone by the slowness of the New York wicket.
He will look to get back to his rhythm against Canada before India play their first Super 8 game on June 20.
