On the professional front, Rohit recently led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup, becoming only the second skipper after MS Dhoni to win the ICC event for the Men in Blue.

Rohit enjoyed a great ODI series in Sri Lanka with the bat, becoming the leading run-getter with 157 runs in his three outings with the help of two half-centuries. As a skipper, he lost the series 0-2 against the Islanders, who beat India for the first time in an ODIs series after 1997.

He will now be keen to lead India to glory in a Test season, where they play two Tests against Bangladesh (home), three games against New Zealand (home), and the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

Apart from the above, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that Rohit Sharma will lead India in two ICC events next year- the World Test Championship final and the Champions Trophy.
